False Modesty

False modesty is that thing where someone gives you a compliment or asks you about your race and you pretend that what you did wasn’t actually that good although secretly inside you are pretty happy with yourself.

Don’t do that it’s super annoying.

If someone says “great race” or “wow that was awesome” or “that was amazing”

Say: “Thank you” and mean it. It doesn’t mean you are conceited or have a big ego. It just means you are acknowledging a compliment for something someone thinks you did well. Sometimes there is more ego in pretending you did not.

If you did well, acknowledge it, be thankful for it and then move on.
