Past, Present, Future

You want to get somewhere. You have goals. That’s normal, most of us do and it’s a good thing. The future can keep us motivated, focused and on task. The future can help shape what we do in the present.

But we shouldn’t spend too much time in the future. The future is illusory. The future is in our heads. Too much focus on the future takes away focus and energy from the present.

We need the present moment in order to get to the future. The present is where you actually get stuff done. The present is where all the good stuff happens. The present is where you will find peace, productivity and passion. The present is the single greatest place to spend time.  And even when you get to the future you will still only be in the present.

As for the past…learn from it yes, be thankful for it yes, but spend as little time as you can there or it can weigh you down like an anchor.
