Endurance racing hurts. It’s tough. It’s supposed to be. That’s what you signed up for.
Accepting that and embracing that in the days leading into an event is a great mental weapon and in an odd way it can make you feel more calm. You can either be riddled with nerves and anxiety about what’s coming or you can accept it, love it, embrace it.
Those who are willing to throw themselves into the fire and thrive in the discomfort will overcome way more than those who are afraid of it.
